Spotlight: The Sketchbook Library

About two times a year, the Brooklyn Sketchbook Library releases a new volume of the international Sketchbook Project.

The project allows artists across the globe to participate by creating an online account and purchasing a sketchbook from the project. You are given a few months to fill about thirty pages however you wish!

Some artists create stories, some set a theme for their book and other artists just create freely and explore mediums within their sketchbook.

The sketchbook has a due date on the back and you mail it back to the library in Brooklyn so that it can be documented and put up for visitors to view.

I was able to participate in one of the newest volumes and create a sketchbook of my own. It was an engaging opportunity that allowed me to showcase my ideas in the big apple!

You too can create a sketchbook of your own, at https://www.sketchbookproject.com
