Setting A Scene

Hello everyone!

So this week in General Illustration we took the characters we made last time, and put them in a scene. This is something I regularly do, and enjoy doing, so it was a lot of fun to have it as an assignment.

When thinking of the characters, you think of their setting, their lives, where they come from. Thinking about this can affect not only their posture, their clothing, or their attitudes, but also the scenes they will be placed in later. Ace, for example, is based off a 1950’s all around cool guy. He was a part of the school football team, and loved making new friends. I thought it important to put him into a scene with his school.

His ex girlfriend is Ferrah, and she is a bad vampire who turned him into one. Though he uses magic to walk during the day, she loves the night. In turn, I also wanted them to mirror one another’s poses, while still creating a fun contrast between their characteristics.

Take a look and let me know what you guys think!

This coming week we will be working on comics and creating some pages! I think I want to do something in either black and white with grays, or simple colors since I have gotten so many comments about Ace looking like Archie!

Either way, I’m looking forward to it!

Have a great week!
