Coming To A Close

After posting about new, inspiring artists that I found through the internet during the break, and about the wonderful local galleries in the area, I want to talk about something else this week.

The featured image today is the image that I am using for my final project in a class. It is to be a sustained study of a portrait or a landscape. The landscape that I chose is right in my backyard, and it is a very peaceful sight to behold. Even though it is a project, has guidelines, and even a deadline, I realized that it is the most relaxing project that I have worked on all semester.

I’m sure that everyone has been concerned about one thing or another lately. Whether it’s schoolwork, finals, a project coming to a close, or the entire world, everyone is worried. However, I learned that, even though this project is causing me a fair deal of stress, it is still the most relaxing one yet.

Even if you are doing something for a grade, a commission, or anything of that sort, be sure to stop for a second and enjoy the activity.

Even if you are doing something for a grade, a commission, or anything of that sort, be sure to stop for a second and enjoy the activity. I love art, but it is also the biggest source of stress in my life. This project has shown me that, even though I am stressed about it, I still love art, and I should take the time to appreciate what I am creating. I’m sure that when it’s complete, it will need even more work to be the best piece that it can be, but it will still have insurmountable worth even before I put all that extra work in. Everything that you create has worth, because you created it. So take a moment to have pride in your work, do your best through all of the stress, and also enjoy whatever it is that you’re doing. It will reflect in whatever you’re creating, and also give you a little bit of peace in a hectic time.
