Prisoner To My Passion

There is no such thing as free, everything has a price, but what’s the cost of pursuing your passion?

Through the process of chasing my dreams, I’ve learned that it’s better to go alone than to go together. There are times when all I want to do is draw, and times when I have inspiration but no motivation. So, I would take break and go hang out with friends or engage myself in some sort of activity other than art. But I always feel like the odd one out.

Art for me has always been like a go to for me when everything else around me seems to be going in the wrong direction. Even though sometimes I feel like I’m only limited to expressing myself through art, I’ve learned that it’s not a bad thing. Albert Einstein presumably once said, Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. In my case I realize that I was my own judge and worst critic. My true home will always be where ever I find myself with a pencil and a paper. I just hope that as I navigate this path less traveled that remain true to myself and embrace the struggles that comes with it.
