Sometimes I think it can be interesting to go through older photos, and recently I noticed a good amount of the photos I have are from around at school. Even though it was a pretty common theme that it wouldn’t hurt to shoot off of campus I still found myself shooting there from time to time. Although I understand and appreciate the merits of exploring unfamiliar territory, spending so much time in one place can make you see it differently. Kind of like the way rooms feel bigger the first time you’re in them but eventually the way you look at them changes, commuting through the same places regularly causes the way you see potential images to change as well. As important as it is to change up your surroundings and keep things fresh, that doesn’t necessarily mean that there aren’t new ways to see things that you’ve already become familiar with.
