Beach Figure Painting

As I mentioned in my last post, I was just recently on a vacation and I filled my sketchbook with a ton of drawings and my phone with lots of photos. After looking back at everything I came home with I was eager to start a new painting! I came up with a figurative sketch for a painting that I felt would be interesting. I guess it would be considered a narrative which I don’t think I have done before. Usually during school we only have one model at a time and I haven’t really painted figures outside of the studio. I am continuing to work with oils and for this painting I used a brush and a palette knife. I was focusing on how I wanted the figures and the colors to relate to one another.
